Growing Strong In Christ 2021

Happy New Year! If you are a serious Christian, no doubt you’re thinking of ways you can grow in your relationship with Christ in the coming year. Me too! First, if we want to grow, we have to know where we stand! The two clear commandments we are to follow are: Love God with all your heart, soul and mind; and then love others as yourself. It seems simple enough, right? The truth is, it takes a life-time to cultivate a deep love for God and genuine love for others. We have to dedicate a lifestyle of growing our roots down into Him!  So… How are you doing? It’s...

I Choose To Trust Jesus

I choose to trust Jesus whose power never weakens and love never fades—not even over time. I choose to trust Jesus whose integrity isn’t questionable because His words never fall short and His promises never fail. I choose to trust Jesus because His kindness isn’t discriminatory and His mercy isn’t blind. I choose to trust Jesus whose wisdom is so perfect it leaves no room for wonder, estimation, guessing, reading between the lines or drawing flawed conclusions.  I choose to trust Jesus whose reputation is so 100 % faithful, I can’t possibly be misguided when I follow Him....

Keep The Way Clear

“Holiness!” That word makes most of us squirm a bit, doesn’t it? It really shouldn’t. It turns out that Holiness is actually a favorite topic of mine— not  because I am a Nazarene and “Holiness” is our theme, but I love the doctrine of Holiness because it is truth. Jesus made it possible to live a victorious life above sin. Through His work on the Cross, Jesus made a way for us to be cleansed and that is a big deal. It is a big deal because sin hurts. Sin destroys. Sin confuses. Sin wrecks. Sin steals. Sin distorts. Sin perverts. Sin kills. Sin wreaks havoc. All too often I’ve...

Faith Sharing 101

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, you probably didn’t stumble into a good thing. Somebody somewhere in some way told you about Him. Maybe it was a preacher, a Sunday school teacher, parent, family member or friend. In my case, it was a lot of somebodies in a lot of places that shared the good news of Jesus. I’m grateful.      Most people cringe at the thoughts of sharing their faith and list reasons why they can’t: “It’s not my job—that’s for preachers.” “I’m too shy.” “I don’t know how, or have the right words to say.” “I don’t understand all of the Bible.”...

Crowned with Glory and Honor

She stood at the bathroom counter on a step-stool in her mix-matched outfit she’d picked out all by her four-year-old-self. She was a mess head to toe—her hair was in tangles and even her socks didn’t match.  Staring straight in the mirror as she washed her hands, she smiled and proclaimed with sweet innocence…. “I’m soooooo beautiful!”  I replied, “Yes you are, Rosie, and don’t ever forget it!” Oh how I would love to apply a fake tattoo of a crown on her little forehead that reads… “Don’t mess with me… I was made a little lower than the angels, and crowned with glory...

Traveling Through Waters

Hi friends!I’m excited and I’m nervous. Isn’t that they way it is when trying something new? It’s like dipping your toes into uncharted waters. Soon, curiosity overcomes fear and before ya know it, you’re in over your head. Well… here I am, launching a new blog to serve as a place to document my Christian experience and hopefully inspire others to travel this journey along with me.  Journey. That’s a familiar description in Christian circles to describe the traveling process from salvation to sanctification all the way to glorification and everything...
