What’s Up With Me! :-)

Wow oh Wow is about all I can say. So much has been going on lately- I barely have time to catch my breath. I’ve been busy singing all summer, enjoyed leading worship with my friend Karen in North Carolina and last week was the National Quartet Convention! So…. it’s time to slow down and write my thoughts and bring everyone up to date with what’s going on with me!

MY FAMILY- Jesse got settled into college at Dalton! wah! wah! He’s still working- and such fun to hang out with! Austin is running well on the Cross Country team at Heritage HIGH School and Ally is still dancing. She is going to grace the football field escorted by her daddy on Homecoming night! All three of my kids are AMAZING! My hubby- well.. He is the best man in the whole wide world. There is absolutely NO WAY I could do what I do without him.. I am so grateful! We have an anniversary next month! :-) 22 years

MY MUSIC- Well- I’d love to finish a 2nd Album.. working that way. Also, Eric, Ally and I did record one song and it sounds GREAT! My heart is to do a whole album with them- Praying that comes to pass. I’ve been singing out a lot and would love to sing more- praying about that as well.

My Church- Most of you know I’m the Associate Pastor and Worship Leader at RockPointe Church in Rossville GA. We merged with a neighboring congregation several months ago, began a remodeling program and are set to settle in in just a few short weeks. God has been so good- He has blessed us so much and we are VERY excited to move in. Pastor Keith took a Sunday off and I had the privilege of speaking in his place- but I’m glad it’s not every single week! WHEW, I was nervous.. but as always, God bailed me out and guided me with the message He needed me to deliver.

WRITING & EDITING- This seems to be the heart of what God has called me to do. I love writing songs, articles, stories and more. As most of you know, I’ve been writing devotional type articles for SGNScoops magazine for the past year. I love to share the things God puts on my heart every month. He has been so faithful to guide me as to what to say. Last month, our editor Kelly Burton and publisher, Rob Patz asked me to help with the website in posting press. Kelly was a great “teacher” and has pretty much turned this over to me and and swung “Online Editor” title around my neck giving me permission so to speak to run with it. I have to say, it has been the biggest blessing to me. I LOVE reading what God is doing in the lives of other artists. Also, I have the opportunity to meet & talk to artists, industry professionals and write short stories of my own. I’ve had a BLAST attending concerts then later writing “on-site” reports. It has opened the door for me to personally encourage others and that’s been a huge deal for me. For a long time, I’ve been feeling a call and couldn’t quiet figure it all out- but a call to minister to artists and those in the industry. It’s just kind of crazy to see that happening.

Last week Eric and I went to the National Quartet Convention. I sang at the Georgia Country Gospel Music Association every day, then worked in the booth for SGNScoops. I had the privilege to interview Jason Crabb, The Quicks, Sue Dodge, Ann Downing and more. I met everybody- lol Bill & Gloria Gaither, Mark Lowery, Mike English, Guy Penrod, Karen Peck and you name it. It’s so easy to get “star-struck” but I guess I see the human side and my heart goes out to them for the sacrifices some make and I’ve been challenged to walk with God as they do. They are just like us- they experience fatigue, illness and certainly are not exempt from pain- they are people just like us! It was truly a week I’ll never forget.

MY FUTURE- Well.. I do get confused with the direction God is leading me. It seems I have so many things going and I’m still trying to see how it all fits together. Eric and I have been talking to an accountant and hope to be NON Profit ministry very soon. Also I had the privilege to meet and talk to Ann Downing for a little while at NQC and we’re talking about getting together soon to discuss the direction God is leading me. I’ve been so blessed to meet 3 AWESOME AWESOME ladies in gospel music. I’ve met tons, but as I mentioned before- I’m defining who I am and what I want to be. I KNOW that God has allowed me the privilege to gain knowledge, confidence and wisdom from Allison Speer, Sue Dodge and now Ann Downing. I’m sooo excited! I am impressed with all their accomplishments, but I want what they have with Jesus more than anything… I’m blessed!
